Passionate about aerospace and youth development, I volunteered between 2018 and 2024 as an Instructor at 370 Squadron, RAF Air Cadets before my move to Manchester. This experience honed my leadership, communication, and organizational ability, directly benefiting my Mechanical Aerospace Engineer career whilst also giving those skills back to the younger generation.
As a RAFAC Training Officer, I designed and implement engaging training programs, fostering leadership, teamwork, and aerospace knowledge in both staff and cadets. These dynamic programs encompass flight simulation exercises, navigation challenges, helping the passion for aerospace in young minds.
Beyond technical expertise, I also serve as the Squadron's Adjutant, managing essential administrative tasks, ensuring health and safety compliance, and acting as second-in-command to the Officer Commanding. Whilst previous roles as Media, Recruitment, and Safeguarding Officer provided a holistic understanding of the Corps. Each challenge refined my adaptability and leadership.
Volunteering with the RAF Air Cadets has been fantastic for my professional development and strengthened my commitment to inspiring and helping the youth of today.
Since 2018, I've honed my physical and mental discipline through Taekwondo - a previous undertaking in my teenage years that I have again started in my adult life.
I actively participate in both national sparring and pattern competitions, pushing myself to excel. Additionally, I've embraced a leadership role within my dojang, mentoring others and fostering a positive training environment.
These experiences have not only help keep me physically fit but have also cultivated valuable traits of perseverance and focus that keep my mind healthy in day-to-day life.
